How do online payments and payouts work on Musicpher?
Musicpher has partnered with Stripe to offer secure online payments and payouts. When you create a payment account with Musicpher, your clients can pay you directly through the platform. For royalty payouts, Musicpher partners with a fintech bank to send direct deposits or checks for US users and Wise transfers for international users.
What is the “Income & Shares” page?
The “Income & Shares” page allows you to track and request royalty payments from digital distribution. You can see details and accounting for your royalty balances by artist and royalty type (songwriting, master). You can request a payout when your balance exceeds $50 USD.
How do royalty split proposals work?
Musicpher provides an integrated system to create and manage Royalty Splits for everyone involved in the creation of music and the investment for the production of the masters. Split proposals are created and sent for approval to all collaborators. Once all proposals are accepted, Musicpher automates royalty distribution for future digital sales.
Is Musicpher subscription-based?
No, Musicpher is completely free to use with no freemium model. We make money by charging small commissions when there’s money being transferred on the platform. We charge a 3% fee when users pay a provider, a 10% fee to provider’s service costs, and 6% of royalties collected from digital distribution after aggregator fees for releases distributed through the platform.
Is Musicpher an aggregator?
Not yet, but we aim to be a progressive aggregator in the near future that won’t act as a middleman anymore. If we gain enough traction in the industry, our plan is to remove the aggregator layer from the equation and have rights shareholders collect their full royalties, paying only a small administrator fee. For now, we use CDBaby Boost to distribute music on behalf of the artists. Help us make this idea a reality!
Can I redistribute my music through Musicpher if it’s already distributed elsewhere?
Yes, if you have releases outside of Musicpher, we can help you redistribute them via our system to integrate them into the platform. This allows you to manage all your music, royalties, masters, and all your data from your music in one place.
How can I give feedback or suggest new features?
Creating an alternative to the Music Industry is only possible through community effort. We need your amazing ideas to make this a viable reality for all of us. Join the Beta, participate and feel free to reach out to our support team or join the conversation on our social media channels. Your input is invaluable to us!
